Our Sunday Affairs - City of Dogs (2012)

Genre: Youtful Boy Tribe Rock
Website: Bandcamp // Facebook
For Fans Of: Old Gray, Glocca Morra, Marietta
Track List:
- Police Rock
- Hate Parade
- It Turned My Tongue Blue!
- Ooh, the Ghost

Description:
I have a soft spot for this music.  They also spent some real time on these songs, and I think that's worth noting.  This is Our Sunday Affair's second release, following up their way cool EP from last Autumn.  These songs are more focused, but still exploding at the seams with the exuberant energy of youth.  That's what I love about them: their overly-impassioned everything doesn't sound contrived because every second of it sounds totally real and true.  The songs are also much more interesting and dynamic.  "Police Rock" is the most immediate throw-back to their last EP, but the latter three songs are less yelpy and more fleshed out, which I think gives the album more staying power (check out that last track, seriously).  Thank Cap'n Jazz for starting this kind of shit, and give Our Sunday Affairs a high-five for continuing to re-imagine and keep it fresh.  Not everyone will be into this, but those of us that are still touched by young people seeing just how far out on their sleeve they can get their heart will love the shit out of this record.
