Description:
Forget that I'm terrible at posts, I'm sorry. But here, here is a glorious comp from Redbeard Records showcasing talent in the best way a comp can: by giving us just enough. There are only eight tracks here, so unlike most comps that are flooded with like 22 tracks that you'll never wade through, RR has trimmed the fat and only posted the leanest, meanest, most next level shit. This whole Chicago scene all these artists belong to has just been brewing right under the radar, and here it makes an attempt at boiling over. The acoustic tracks are gorgeous and sound seriously 90s, and not in an emo way. But check out those last two tracks. Although I'm way biased in my opinion of how incredible Seth Engel's Options is, both of those tracks are just killer and killer and killer. Have you heard a song as confusingly catchy as "Pickle Chain" in the last six months? No you haven't. You'll be listening to it over and over again. Options finishes this comp off with what is essentially 'the sound of emo to come' (I seriously hope). His track grooves and burns.
